Interesting storyline until you hit the usual female as monster trope. Not a fan of the art style either.

Joyce’s introduction to the club is hilarious and informative. My favorite quote so far is, “We all have a sob story, but we don’t all go around killing people.” Characters are wonderfully written and I was laughing throughout the whole thing. Highly recommend this book for anyone needing a good laugh and good story.Joyce’s introduction to the club is hilarious and informative. These stories are haunting haunted. Tananrive writes about how things could be, and probably will be if we don’t slam that door shut. The Doomsday virus made freedom impossible for carriers who were also immune. There are legends come to life like haints, swamp slugs, demon infestations and a new species of ant that caretakes humans; biographers who are trained to sieve out the warm fuzzies of someone’s life and write a toxic version complete with the topic’s ultimate demise so pesky living people won’t cloud things up.
My favorite quote is from the final section: “It’s just like a USian to eat for pleasure.”These stories are haunting haunted. Intriguing collection of short stories. An obituarist forced to see in a society where most people could walk around with a tech equivalent of closing their eyes and pretending no one else exists, a detective who uses the maps from people’s noses to solve mysteries and crimes, a smart house goes overboard in protecting its inhabitants, and my favorite: Mr. Bartleby saves everyone from ectoplasmic arguments and poltergeists by giving the spirits some behavioural guidelines. And I didn’t even mention iotafication, conspiracies, pollution, communication, and space travel. Mr. Herrera doesn’t explainify inner workings, just posits how things might work.Intriguing collection of short stories. I like the way the author deftly weaves the story into historical events. This third instalment of the trilogy is not as fast-paced as first two, nor fraught with immediate danger all the time. Aster tends to talk and think in run-on sentences like a 13-year-old person, which can be hard to follow at times but her character is solid.
