Blake Croutch states it is a story you have never read before, and was he right. Shannon Moss is a well developed character and it was a great read. 12 hours and I was spellbound. It reminds me of A Dark Matter, but on a completely different level. Malfi does it again with this post-apocalyptic thriller of a father and daughter whose lives have come unhinged in the wake of a worldwide pandemic. Well written and enjoyable for fans of this genre. I wouldn't classify it as horror per say, but it was disturbing to say the least.Malfi does it again with this post-apocalyptic thriller of a father and daughter whose lives have come unhinged in the wake of a worldwide pandemic. I would say that as a whole Pyper is a great writer, loved the damned, demonologist is great so far, and this book was nuanced ghost story/horror detailing how our pasts really do haunt us no matter how hard we try to forget. Loved it!

Malfi is a great story teller. The book was well written and just as scary as Cradle Lake my other favorite of his. It's a quick read that will not dissapoint.

Haven't read his other books, but this was spectacular. Poignant, and utterly creepy. Makes you really think twice about how you live your life...not only are we judged by what we do, but what we don't do in the after. That part hadn't occurred to me.Haven't read his other books, but this was spectacular. Poignant, and utterly creepy.
