For some reason, just reading the foreword reminds me of my own grandmother. Not sure yet if that's a good thing, but it's certain they've both survived a war and a rebellion and are as tough as nails.

This is one of my first dips into Dystopian literature. It's intricately crafted with lots of facets of human nature, society, and worth shoved in. Makes you think about a lot of the more difficult questions in life. Is also a little too disturbing in places to fully enjoy, but I have no doubt that that's the point.
Would recommend this, but with caution. This is one of my first dips into Dystopian literature. It's intricately crafted with lots of facets of human nature, society, and worth shoved in. Makes you think about a lot of the more difficult questions in life. Is also a little too disturbing…

Romantic, thrilling, and with inspiring courage, this book was an amazing read; so much better than the first book in this series.

This book features a girl that is my role model. Strong, intelligent, kind and hardworking, I say she is one-of-a-kind protagonist these days. Instead of being "chosen" and "special" because of powers granted to her, she is a normal girl with her own set of strengths and weaknesses that achieves things out of hard work and determination. This book features a girl that is my role model. How can I describe this book?
Smart, funny, dynamic, witty--this "classic" was probably one of the first "chic lits" ever written. I thought the characters are well-developed (definitely the best part of the book) and both protagonists are swoon worthy. Dialogue always keeps things going, and the narration gives you a few belly laughs. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good laugh (but not a quick one) with a spectacular, climactic--yet subtle--romance wit.How can I describe this book?
