An ok book, a little slow paced and not the writing style that I could get into or maybe am just not used to I guess, but not bad. I liked it enough in the long run that I will probably go on to read the next one.

Average is a good word to describe Spell Bound. I had enjoyed the first book enough to read the second, and loved the second, but this last one...not so much. I thought it was slow and unrealistic. Through the first two books I had mixed feelings about the main character, but I really didn't like her in this last book, I found her annoying and her "witty" comments weren't even that funny, I didn't feel they were necessary either, which contributed to the annoying persona. I thought it was an awfully bland series ender for what had the potential to be a decent trilogy.Average is a good word to describe Spell Bound. Kimberly Derting continually refuses to disappoint. WHen rating books I am very relunctant as to give a perfect five stars to any book, and at first I had given it a four and 1/2 but then thinking back, I can't see anything that would keep me from doing so. I have loved the whole series and each book is independently great, this last one and the first installment in the series, The Body Finder, were probably my favorites. The only thing I wished were different would be the smaller roles of Violets "regular" friends from school, I had really begun to like them and each character had brought a little extra something to the table, but it was still a terrific read. I find that often when reading books when action is involved it can be hard to really make it feel real and heart racing, but Derting is an author that can succesfully acheive that. Definitely a favorite series and new favorite author!

A beautiful story for sure. When I put down the book I wanted to jump for joy and go out and do great things in the name of the Lord!! This book touched my heart and I have to confess, I am definitely jealous of Krickitt, Kim just paints the picture of a perfect husband. When reading the last chapter I could feel God in the room, their faith just screams from the pages and totally wows me. Not what I had expected, but better than I could have thought!A beautiful story for sure. When I put down the book I wanted to jump for joy and go out and do great things in the name of the Lord!! A great end to a great series. Through the whole series Dru stayed the same tough, witty, main character that I loved. Another action packed, well written novel by Lilith St. Crow to go with a perfect cast of well developed characters and an even more perfect ending. Of all the books I've read, I have to say this ending was one of my favorites, it was just perfect! And not too cliche like some other series endings where it is a flawless happily ever after type thing. An addictive read for sure. Recommended.A great end to a great series. I enjoyed Gerritsen's previous novel, The Surgeon, but it wasn't at all as heart racing or addicting as The Apprentice. Once I had gotten a good thirty or fourty pages in I couldn't put it down. The reason I liked The Surgeon was because it made you think, but the Apprentice does all of that and more. Very well written, and planned out. Sometimes I feel like when reading a mystery that at the end when you discover the perp there wasn't enough information for you to have even guessed who it was, and I find that irritating and gives the writter a lazy-like personna for not giving you a solvable mystery book, but Gerritsen; thankfully; doesn't do that. I did feel that when ever there was a corpse in sight Gerritsen seemed to give the same description of the bloated belly and portruding veins, it seemed kind of repetitive and I found myself skipping a few sentences whenever I saw the word bloated. Good book though.

Decent, not heart racing but it kept you thinking. At times when you were reading from the killers point of veiw I felt like it was taken to extremes, just a little too graphic. And is it just me or do all authors like to start out with a really graphic novel when it comes to cop mysteries? I don't know, but I seem to have found a pattern in that the first book in a series as the most graphic one.Decent, not heart racing but it kept you thinking. Just....average. I thought the petty conflicts in the story were just, well, petty. The quality of writting not up to par, and yet another main character constantly repeating herself in her thoughts. I do like the turn fo the norm in the fact where the book was actually on a character that didn't beleive at the first mention that she was(or in other cases her friend was) a supernatural. Made it more real. The romance lacking for the main reason of a boring main character. Not really recommended, although I did get a good chunk out of the book, I didn't finish it.Just....average. Keeps your interest with its grossly real content. I'm not sure what else made it so good, I sat here typing and deleting, typeing and deleting, none of my words seeming to describe it well enough, the word that made it what it was escaping my mind. Maybe it was the fact that towards the begining of the book Katie had reminded me of myself in her love for swim and conflict with her brother and herself. Or maybe it was the flawless writting of Jessica Warman. I'm not exactly sure why it was just a good book. Although I felt towards the end that Warman was strained in her quest to just finish the book, the last 40 or 50 pages rushed a little bit, the quality of writting not quiet as great. Also I was alittle disappointed because from reading the summery I got the feel that it would be more about swimming when it wasn't really centered on that as much as I would have hoped, but I guess that's my fault for expecting something else from a book I hadn't even read yet. Good book though. Recommended.Keeps your interest with its grossly real content. one of the best mystery books I've ever read. I probably changed my list of suspects at least six times, the new secrets plucked from the story keeping me hooked. Every time you turned a page another unexpected event happened. Definitely not predictable, and a book I couldn't stop reading, at times I felt like I was reading dreadfully slow because I just needed to know what would happen next, in a good way though. good book, but closed with a bad ending. Not because it was a tragic ending or something else of the sort, but because it just lacked in the follow through. I liked the book though and got through it quickly. At first I didn't like the main character because Barnholdt started off making her keep complaining about the break up in a whiney sort of way, but I warmed up to her eventually. But besides the iffy start, and equally "bleh-ish" ending, I liked it.

I'm sad to see the series go, but I'm happy that I have been ablel to have seen Stiefvater grow in her experience as a writer. Each of her books I've read so far have been wonderful but have missed that extra push to become more than four stars, well congrats, you've earned it. The charcters are so well developed and the writting(always a strong spot) is amazing. Gruen has a way with words. She made me want to cuddle with a chimp, and she made me simply fall in love with an elephant, quite possibly my favorite character in the whole book! The rants and speaches of an older Jacob had me laughing hysterically, while the advantures filled of pain, fellowship, and strive for aptness in a secluded world where there is little brought about through beautiful words was ideal. And the ending made me want to cry out for joy, it was just so perfect! I loved every bit of the last what? thirty pages? Lovely.Gruen has a way with words. A gripping, loveable, must read book. Soli could make you hate a puppy and love a pitbull. This book will pull out your emotions and twist them till they aren't sure whether or not they are what they are. Stunning characters, and a whole nother view on war, especially the Vietnam war. Beautiful descriptions, I could practically smell Saigon. The only bad thing I can say is that it was confusing at times as to who was saying/thinking what because of the constant swich of views in the book, but very minor. Yes, a good concept, and enjoyable learning story but sloppily written. Each sentence was like a jerk and stop, jerk and stop. This series is overrated. Yes at times it was actually somewhat good but in the end, the books up to this one are not good. James Patterson, also highly overrated, has yet to come up with a good young adult book. I mean seriously, yo? NO ONE SAYS THAT ANYMORE. Also he lacks in trying to come up with any sort of plot, let alone one that the reader can root for the characters for(important component in any novel) and one that makes any sort of sense. He makes Max make fun of cliches all the time but seriously? The whole series is full of cliches, rescues in the nick of time, injuries that heal perfectly, evil laughing scientists, the never ending list of superpowers, kids that never cry, do I have to go on?This series is overrated. My favorite in the series, I'm definitely sad to see it end, especially when the author set up a perfectly good plot for a book afterword. Lovely crafted, beautifully written, and wonderfully developed characters. I thought the whole twist of the girl being "unearthly" rather than the overly used, mysterious boy, thing. I was excited for it at the beginning, thought, ohhh this is defferent, but was slowly disappointed. I guess a big part of it was just that I didn't like Luce as the main character. And the whole, "we were meant to be together forever!" is a bit too cliche for me. Same with the whole, "I must know him somehow, and he just knows me so well too!". At some point I saw room for success, but that seemed to quickly disappear. I might read the next book, but its just one of those books that you read because you simply have nothing else to read.
