I very much enjoyed this book and gave 4 copies of it as gifts to friends. It seemed to me very entertaining and intelligent-- the best of 'women's reading'.

This is one of my top 3 favourite books from the last 5 years. It's fabulous and I was sorry to see it end. I have five copies of it in the house as I write this, as I'll be giving four out as xmas gifts. I've already given a copy to neighbours and the husband enjoyed it so thoroughly that he bought a copy to give to their daughter.
I think the writer would have been better served with quotes from various favorable reviews (Publishers Weekly, Kirkus, Library Journal) emblazoned on the cover either instead of or alongside the one advertising the Jewish award that is on the edition I read; I did presume they'd been fishing from a smaller pond. I feel regret that everyone hasn't had the enormous pleasure of reading The Weight of Ink and think it should have won every award out there so more would know of it its existence:)This is one of my top 3 favourite books from the last 5 years. A fabulous read! I've been an avid reader of mysteries for most of my 60 years and am uninterested in most of the 'psychological' and/ or serial killer sort that's so common of late. Going Zero was very enjoyable.

I loved My Ex Life. After a slightly uneven start (my fault as I wasn't sure I could reliably trust the author's sympathy as per his characters), I spent enjoyable hours in a book I found both intelligent and generous!

Fabulous book!! I'm not very familiar with the fantasy genre, but I loved this novel so much I gave it to my mother as a Mother's Day gift and she also thoroughly enjoyed it. Re the genre, I've only (also) read The Crystal Cave trilogy by Mary Stewart and the Lord of the Rings trilogy-- I'm very impressed with all, but Circe is my favorite.Fabulous book!! This book took my breath away. I didn't especially relate to the characters but I liked them and found them interesting and the writing is phenomenal. Brilliant and scary.

Really very good! I enjoyed it more than Dogtripping and am glad I didn't pass this one up presuming it was too much of the same thing.
Go for it-- you'll love it.

This book is absolutely fabulous. I think other readers who have dismissed this book as being 'light reading' simply don't get it. The book is highly readable, yes, but the writing is insightful, generous and bang on. Fay Weldon's writing doesn't pander and cleaves to the truth, and because of that, she's very funny, very giving and very smart.
And, too, Fay Weldon wrote for Upstairs Downstairs, the incredibly popular tv series that Downton Abbey emulated. This book is absolutely fabulous. One of my favourite books and my favourite of Jane Smiley's. It is a wonderful, big and big-hearted read with characters you'll long remember, many of them being of the equine variety :)

This is a fabulous book and it's made my short list of go-to books to give as gifts. I relished every moment I spent in the book! It is intelligent, charming, wise, witty, and has an engaging story line. Truly, it made me recollect my habit of considering excellent books as excellent friends. This is a wonderful series-- entertaining and informative! I saw it for the first time a few weeks on tv (the 2nd season, I guess) and was so impressed I checked to see if the library had anything on it. I haven't been disappointed at all and I've been trying to mete it out one a day to make them last :)This is a wonderful series-- entertaining and informative! This series is wonderful! Every single episode-- 12 in all, one for each month of the year-- is both engaging and full of fascinating detail. I absolutely loved this novel! I'm a mystery (book) lover and this one is excellent. I really wasn't offended by any bad language, though the first third of the book wasn't as engrossing as the final two thirds-- and I did consider setting it aside-- it kicked into gear and I didn't thereafter want to put it down. I wish she'd write another with these two lead characters. I missed them as soon as I finished the book. I am really impressed.I absolutely loved this novel!
