Wonderful film starring Stanley Tucci who serves as a US diplomat in France after WWII. His character is married to a restless woman who takes up cooking to have something to do. I don’t want to give away the plot, but Tucci’s character’s…
Lovely, life-affirming and fun movie with wonderful acting, really about two women finding a path for themselves in life, the younger one (Julie) inspired by the famous Julia. The movie makes excellent use of the biographical resources…

Two romantic love stories (one considerably more believable than the other), and one extra infatuation with cooking make this film enjoyable and pleasant. Based on a book by Julie Powell, one modern gal does her best to channel her inner…

We tried to watch the movie The Hours with Meryl Steep and it was bad, turned it off after 15 minuets. At the same time I had checked out Julie & Julia and after trying Hours we decided not to watch Julie, The thought of listening to…

Two movies in one. I love the back and forth between Powell's feeble attempts at Mastering the Art of French Cooking with the story of Child's life. Streep and Tucci, always amazing, provide great insight to the Child's relationship and…

I really liked this movie! Nora Ephron did a wonderful job (as always) directing this and the plot was really cute. I haven't read the book yet, but I enjoyed seeing the story come to life and the way it switches back and forth from…

Love this movie, great for foodies or anyone who remembers their mom watching "The French Chef". I watch it at least once a year. Superb cast and acting.

Excruciating! could have been a really enjoyable movie, but that Julia Child voice is like a million fingernails on a million chalkboards. The real Julia Child had a peculiar voice, but it didn't induce the same amount of pain!

This is a feel-good movie about French food, cookbook writing, and early 2000's blogging. The film depicts the story of Julia Child's work to introduce French cuisine to housewives in America. Alongside this story is one of a young writer…

Julie and Julia is a wonderful story of a young woman (Julie played by Amy Adams) creating her dream life by challenging herself to cook all the recipes in the famous "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" by Julia Child. Meryl Streep as…

I watched it quite a while back, not long after it was released, and really enjoyed it.
This past year, I got fascinated with how Amy Adams shows so much personality in her expressive face, and started looking for more of her…

Two terrific loves stories, one terrific life story, great acting almost all around, some wit and humour. One to see again, and a great date movie.

“Julie & Julia” was an entertaining film. Yet, I was more interested in Julia’s story and would have been quite satisfied with a movie that was just a biographical account of the renowned chef.
Interesting, sweet and a bit funny. Meryl Streep does a great job as Julia Child, a woman with an infectious zest for life. The relationships that both women in the movie have with their husbands are very sweet. Really enjoyable.
