It's unfortunate that this situation is still all too true. Set in Vancouver's lower east side, this book in verse really kept my attention.

This book was beautifly written. I love the simplicity in the way the author wrote as it made the main character seem so much more real and vunrable. This book toyed with my emotions and was yet another White Pine book that had me in tears.

Compared to others, it was an okay book. I didn't enjoy the way the layout was, but it was interesting to read.

I loved this book. The way it's written is in a poetry layout but it reads just like a book. I found the ending kind of unfinished but other than that it was a great read! Glad I read it. :)

Great book. Interesting style of writing. The ending was confusing, though. Many questions rised up in the last few pages. The characters are also.... Interesting.

For a book about prostitution, drug addiction, family dysfunction and a serial killer, My Book of Life by Angel is surprisingly tame. I would recommend this to readers who prefer the safer end of gritty realism, but my own preference is…

Child prostitution. Angel is sixteen and popular with johns because she looks thirteen. Things were rough at home and Call gradually lured her away from her dad, got her hooked on the high of his "candy" and made her think that he…
