One of my favorite wordless picture books. A young girl uses a red marker to open a doorway into another realm to go on a journey. It follows a similar theme of "Harold the Purple Crayon" as the girl draws different solutions and methods…
What a beautiful imaginative book. This picture book without text makes the story whatever you imagine it to be! I enjoyed reading it more than once to see what I missed the first time.

There are no words in this book, but the beautiful illustrations tell the story. You don't have to read too much into it, just show your child the pictures and explain what's going on - their imaginations will be able to fill in the rest!

Where will go in your little red canoe guided by a magic lantern? Everywhere magical and enchanted. Beautifully written and illustrated by Aaron Becker.

You've probably heard about Journey already, because it's almost impossibly awesome, and tons of people who have read it have flipped out over it and told everyone they knew, especially on their blogs. But if you have not read it yet, you…

Becker pushes boundaries of what type of story can be told in a picture book. He gives us so much to look at, making the book a prime candidate for re-reading.

This is an absolutely astounding picture book, with a phenomenal story. It makes an excellent platform for young readers to tell their own interpretations, and gives us a chance to stretch our imaginations! I definitely recommend it!

First of all, there is no denying the illustrations in this book are at times extraordinarily detailed. The story begins in sepia when she is bored and turns to full color when she uses her red marker to create a door into a fantasy…

I don't think there are guns pictured. These bad guys are spear-wielding. What resembles a gun in the bird-capture scenes is the head bad guy pointing a gloved finger while giving orders. If he were pointing a gun, he'd either be aiming…
I read great reviews of this wordless book and was surprised, after reading it, that none mentioned that the bad guy characters are drawn pointing guns at other characters. My 3-year-old finds it too scary.

Becker’s debut isn’t afraid to go epic on his first turn around the block. Packed with details, the book rewards readings and rereadings. It’s a true original, though it certainly harkens back to classic picture books of yore. I don’t get…
In this spellbinding wordless tale, a lonely girl uses a bright red crayon to draw herself out of her boring brown city and into a lavishly coloured adventure. As the girl travels through a gorgeously detailed fantasy world, encountering a…
