I love this book! It's the first in a series of three and I read them all in 1 weekend. So good!

this book is awesome!!!!!! i loved it, it is really good even though the begiing starts off kind of slow it gets juicy latter on.

So I thought that the beginning was pretty boring at first, but I was able to get through it. So bearable. Overall, the story meaning was great, and the general feel of the story was alright. But the character of Brian, although sweet at times, didn't really click with me. I thought Brian and DJ didn't have that great of chemistry. And sometimes DJ's rambling, although true and quite insightful (and advice that I could take as well with my own family), was too much rambling for me. The interesting stuff didn't happen until chapter 20 or so and that's what really bugged me. But I guess the book wasn't really about that. Amber was annoying even from the start. She was tolerable in the book, but if I had a friend like that in real life...actually I wouldn't want a friend like that in real life. Kari was adorable and I thought she was a better best friend than Amber was. And Curtis? I can't even get over how ADORABLE he is!!!!! He's honestly the cutest guy ever and who cares if he doesn't talk much? I totally want a brother/friend or whatever in real life! Let's be honest and say I'm mostly reading the next book because of him. :P

"Dairy Queen" is a clever romantic comedy and coming of age story. Told in the first person by a tough tomboy - D.J. - whose football crazed family she is convinced is dysfunctional because they never talk. As her friend Brian says,"When you don’t talk, there’s a lot of stuff that ends up not getting said." Because her father is in the midst of a hip operation, and her older brothers are at college on football scholarships, 16 year-old D.J. is doing all the heavy lifting on her family's dairy farm. Quite literally. From haying to milking, D.J. is practically running the farm single-handedly while her mother juggles two jobs. And, then D.J. finds herself roped into training the rival football team's quarterback, Brian. When D.J. finally decides to stop being like the cows she milks twice a day, to stop doing what is expected of her, she rattles both her family, the town, and maybe even Brian. D.J. decides to try out for the boy's football team. Mind you, she's still keeping the dairy farm going, but she ends up doing it on her own terms. And, she gets to play football. And, as this is a romantic comedy, she might even get Brian. But, we don't get to know that. I guess there is a sequel. Quite a fun story, actually.

So GOOD! Although the first few pages are really boring and slow, so just keep on reading it and you'll start wanting to read it ALL the time. Talks about issues of today that teenagers go through, such as love, sexuality, and family problems. This is just the beginning of a good trilogy.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! i ranked it level 2, my second highest level for books. liked "princess ben" better but this is better than "off season". hilarious, exciting, and inspiring, Dairy Queen kept me going until the very last page. MOOOOOOOOOOO

Sooo much better than I expected. Definitly worth a read.

My favorite Trilogy EVER. I never read books more then once but these ones I've already read twice and am hoping to start them again.

A great book! It talks about teenage problems filled with romance and football! For girls and guys!!
