Like Julia Child I didn’t have to cook or do any housework until I was on my 30’s. Also like her I am a bit messy in the kitchen and am over 6’ tall. I don’t enjoy modern cooking programs, they seem to want to do something different, not necessarily that will work, but to impress. Not Mrs. Child: she could teach a lot of new practical techniques and tricks—and they work. Although pâte à choux is so easy anyone can master, I was fascinated by her demonstration of how to handle brioche dough. This is an excellent series for new to seasoned cooks. The first disc is about Mrs. Child’s life. Highly enjoyed it.
