Add a Commentthis is a great book! i wish the ending was different but it was still amazing. if i was peak i would have never been able to make it past base camp. i'm surprised how strong a fourteen year old can be. amazing!
Unexpected ending, great read! I just left feeling a little unsatisfied, like there wasn't enough.
I spent a month reading this book to my kids expecting it to be a typical kids book, but this book really blew me away - emotionally complex, written from a real 14 y.o.'s POV, with fantastic attention to detail, and a supremely satisfying ending. When I finished it, I had the feeling that I have gotten from my favourite books, like it was the best book I've ever read.
A great read! It keeps you wanting to read more. Also, you really feel like you are a climber on Mount Everst. As I was reading this book, I kept thinking, wow, I could never climb a moutain. It was a great book!
Good adventure story. Characters are interesting and well developed. Plot focuses on 14 year old boy and his relationships with his father, his step father, and other family members. (I loved the last sentence in this book, though I don't suggest people read ahead.)
