I Am Legend
Robert Neville is the last human survivor in what is left of New York City. A pandemic has left only 1% of the population alive and most of those who survived are no longer human. The infected, now lurking in the shadows, watch Neville's every move. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by the only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood.

Saw this movie years ago and it still stands up well. A well done apocalyptic movie.

As I read the comments of my fellow humans here, I see the sad fact that what is said 4 times in the Harry Potter story: "Muggles don't notice nothing" is true. The crowd takes the stories literally and don't see the symbolic meanings they carry. One celebrity said: "If you want to know future, watch the Hollywood fiction movies." Because the movie moguls participate in conferences about future plans for this planet and they put that future before us in "fiction" form. This movie here shows symbolically how ugly humans genetically infected by the individual selfishness virus are. It also promotes vegetarianism by showing us at the start of this movie how ugly the killing of other living creatures is. The present cities will be depopulated and finally abandoned, and the new Civilization will be in dome cities with a much smaller and improved human population. Otherwise, an ice age is coming maybe rather soon, and many of the present cities will be razed off the ground by the 2-3 km thick ice slab that will descend Southward. The crowd doesn't think, it's hopeless to try to make them see the bigger picture, which is put before their eyes and yet they don't see it. The Holy Books also carry symbolic meanings in the form of folk-tale-like stories, such as the Tower of Babel story, which in fact symbolically describe a former attempt in the Middle East to create a united world, where the leaders wanted to become like gods. In the Bethlehem story the 3 Wise Men or Magi who are led by the Morning Star, are in fact 3 stars in the Orion, which come into alignment on Dec.25 and show toward the Morning Star. The animals in the story are in fact the Zodiac.

The movie/film I am Legend is a film based on the lonely life of the last surviving human living in New York City. This is a 14A movie, filled with captivating action scenes as well as scenes that keep you glued to your seat. It is an action-packed mind blowing movie that deserves a total of 5 stars. The movie speaks about a character named Robert Neville who believes he is the last human surviving in the entire world and needs to save the rest of the humans that have been hit by the virus before it’s too late. The name of this movie is called I am Legend, because of his great attempts and struggles to save the world. This is also an emotional and exciting movie. This movie is almost similar to the movie seven pounds, also acted by the one and only Will Smith. The stories are quite similar, as you will see. This movie keeps in touch with the reggae superstar Bob Marley. Will Smith is a great actor in this movie as he always is in each and every one of his movies. He is a supporting and understanding actor. The director who is Francis Lawrence did a fantastic job on filming the humans who later on turned into creatures. The photography and mostly the camera and lighting were awesome. I think you would love this movie. This is also a heart-warming drama that controls the mind and body. Watch the movie and be amazed.

Well, I've finally seen I Am Legend. And what I first, and foremost, want to say about this flick is - "So, What?"

You know, I was really-really-really quite excited about seeing I am Legend after all of the hype it got from the media and all the goddamn praise that it garnered from all of the devoted Will Smith fans that there seem to be out there.

Like, what's the big deal about Will Smith, anyways? I don't get it. His character portrayals are, at best, only marginally interesting. And, he strikes me as being a really false and one-dimensional actor.

Anyways - I found I Am Legend to be so interesting, and so compelling, that I actually fell asleep not once, but twice, during it. Yeah. It was that good.

And, I didn't even bother to go back to see what the hell I had missed, 'cause I knew from what I had already seen of this flick that I hadn't missed a bloody thing. It's true.

So, that about wraps up this riveting review of I Am Legend. It may not be much, but, hey, (due to its major disappointment-factor) I think that this is all of a review that this dismal flick deserves.

One of the most frustrating movies I've ever seen. What begins as a well-made, suspenseful piece of post-apocalyptic horror suddenly (in a scene that feels completely out of character for the protagonist) turns into a cliched, idiotic, preachy joke of a movie that claims the salvation of mankind is organized religion.

What an irritating piece of crap.

The zombies are we and the virus is human selfishness. Neville is the New Will, which will save the Planet. The deserted city is in fact the future and probably Vancouver will look the same after the present feverish constructions are finished to fill up the space with a crowd of zombies. The future is not for the zombies; it's for a man with a new will. Hey, guys, when will you be focusing on the meaning of a story and not the sound effects and the literal story itself? The New Will man (Wil Smith is one) will see the meaning, which is the essence of every good story, like this one. From the comments I see that tne Average Joe crowd does not think. They have no idea that the present Civilization based on wasting resources, using the motor vehicle and destroying the Earth cannot go on for long. The Wise Men of old and of today have planned a different future, which will be sustainable, but this is possible only with a much-much smaller human population. Shortage of oil comes before 2030, and the renewable energies will not be able to replace the lack. It has been announced several times that the biggest plague ever is coming, and that will be the beginning of the biggest-ever change in human history. On the ruins of this Civilization a new one will be built. Our biig cities will be abandoned and given back to Nature. The human society will be totally separated from Nature; there will be smaller dome cities as we are shown in Logan' Run (the movie) - there you can see the ruins of the abandoned old cities. The future society will be totally controlled and planned and managed by the Wise Men who wrote about it as the Kingdom of God in the Holy Books. That will be the Kingdom of the New Type of Man: unselfish and peaceful, a community member and good worker. Neville mans the Nerw Will to create that New World.

This is one of my favorite apocalypse-themed movies; I’ve watched it several times.

Decent Scfy movie, but not at all scary!

The copy that was checked out to me was not actually a Blu-ray. The Library Blu-ray checkout label was apparently accidentally applied to a Widescreen DVD copy.
