Kids love gross-out stuff like this book. Grimly's illustrations are a ghoulish delight. One amusing detail I nearly overlooked is that each song is "somethinged to the tune of" in keeping with the theme of the song, so "howled" for one about a werewolf, and "sniveled" for one about boogers. Lots of fun.

Remember all those songs you sang when you were a kid, Home on the range, Farmer in the dell, 99 bottles of beer on the wall? This book has adapted those songs into icky monster themed songs. Home on the range has become Home of the strange, Take me out to the ball game is now Take me out to the graveyard. This books promises lots of singing enjoyment accompanied by wonderful illustrations by Gris Grimly. Staff picks 2009

Great fun. Gross. The boys love it. The girls just groan. The favorite was Blow, Blow, Blow Your Nose.
