this is a great book! its so realistic, and just tells about there basic lives instead of most unrealistic books about crazy adventures! but be sure to read the unabridged version, its waaaaaaaay better than the abridged even if it is longer.

This is a great classic. I have something in common with each of the sisters. I am the oldest, like Meg - and I have three younger sisters - . I write stories, like Jo. I take piano, like Beth. And I do a bit of art, like Amy.

This book is a great classic. There are timeless heroines with wit, intelligence and independence. This was a great read with many lessons and what I loved about this book were the characters. They weren’t the typical family, perfect people who all get along. They were flawed people who were so real and human. Well except for Bess, she hardly complained and she proved that you can change the others around you with a simple act of kindness. The book starts off with, "Christmas won't be Christmas without any presents, grumbled Jo, lying on the rug. It's so dreadful to be poor! sighed Meg, looking down at her old dress. I don't think it's fair for some girls to have plenty of pretty things, and other girls nothing at all, added little Amy, with an injured sniff. “We've got Father and Mother, and each other, said Beth contentedly from her corner." I love how right in the beginning we can see the contrast of the characters and how each responds with their problems. This book has a writer, a dreamer, an artist and a musician. But most importantly none of them had to fall in love to make their dreams come true or their life worthwhile. The story revolves around the coming of age of four sisters Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy takes place in nineteenth-century New England as their father is off to war. Even though the title suggests them to be nothing but little women, throughout the course of the book they grow up to be much more than that, not just women, but people with good hearts who have suffered and succeeded who have learnt from their scars and were always willing to one another out.

I somehow made it to the age of 26 without having read this book and it ended up being on a reading list for a class at school. I can honestly say this is the most boring book I've ever read! Absolutely nothing happens and I found the March sisters to be extremely whiny and irritating.

Little Women was simply amazing. The growth of each character throughout the book was described so vividly making each scene imaginative. Filled with morals and significant lessons, Little Women is a classic that everyone should read.

In picturesque nineteenth-century New England, tomboyish Jo, beautiful Meg, fragile Beth, and romantic Amy come of age while their father is off to war. Inspiring, cozy read for all ages.

There are many Beths in the world, shy and quiet, sitting in corners till needed, and living for others so cheerfully that no one sees the sacrifices till the little cricket on the hearth stops chirping, and the sweet, sunshiny presence vanishes, leaving silence and shadow behind.
