The concept was engaging. I could see, however, that this would get annoying if the character doesn't change and grow in the future.

Great story... forbidden love and all that. I liked the imagery- the descriptions Sophie Jordan used were fantastic. The only thing that bothered me was the grammar, sentence structure to be exact. Other than that, I'd really recommend this as a good book to read.

Firelight was such a refreshing read! The draki are such interesting paranormal creature. Draki, being descended from ancient dragons, there's lots of lore which the author uses to enhance her own mythology. Jacinda is a strong character and I liked her a lot, though sometimes she acts before she thinks, which doesn't always end up going well for her or those around her. Will (*fans self*) is a great match for Jacinda and I love how they are together, although there are many secrets about Will that will keep you turning the pages until the end. The supporting characters give lots of life to the story and I'm excited to learn even more about them and the draki in the next book, Vanish. I don't want to give out any spoilers but there are definitely some great scenes that stand out, where you can feel the tension between people and their settings. I love those types of scenes! Anyway, if you haven't read Firelight and you're a fan of Paranormal YA, then what are you waiting for?! Enjoy!

I loved this book. when i had read it i was like wait it cant end like this. then i askd my...frienn . if there was another book and she was like yes . so i tool out vanish then again i was like Wait dont tell me it cant end like this and guess wat.. I HAVE TO WAIT TILL SEP.11th this year to read it =( excited though but i want summer to last long.. no skool...

What I find really interesting is I wrote a short story essay about a girl moving out to the country because she could turn into a dragon.Since it was short there wasn't much plot development as much as suspense until then end where you realize it's because she can turn into a dragon. Everyone always seems to be two steps ahead of me with their ideas. Albeit, this one wasn't very original, but I also had three others spoiled. :( Gotta get more creative I guess

I read a lot of romance/adventure novels, so I'm pretty picky about them. However, Firelight was totally different from the other sappy romance novels I've come to dislike. It was absolutely wonderful! Now, this might be a bit of a stretch, but in my opinion, it was a LOT like the Hunger Games, plot-wise. It didn't focus too much on one aspect of the story (unlike Twilight, which was pretty much all about a love triangle.) Firelight, like The Hunger Games, balances out love, jealousy, sacrifice, adventure, etc. Overall, I loved Firelight, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a book with a good mixture of all kinds of complex human emotions :D

"Honey brown hair falls over his brow carelessly, and I remember it darkly wet and slicked back from his face. I remember the two of us alone in a cave, his hand on mine and that spark that passed between us before his face became so stark and angry. Before he vanished.”

He watches me intently, his eyes hard and merciless. I wait for him to announce my presence, holding his gaze, refusing to look away, determined that this beautiful boy see the face he sentences to death with his next words. "No." I suck in a breath as the smolder dies from my lungs. We stare at each other for a lingering moment. He, a hunter. Me, a draki. Then, he's gone. And I'm all alone.
