<3ed it 4 sure! Normally fairies are nice and good but this time they were mean and evil. I love the surprising character found in the tunnels and how the 2 girls share a connection. I definitely recommend it!!!

PAGE TURNER 4 SURE!!!

I love this trilogy! I love scary books, but not too scary or else I'll be afraid at night! But I love those books that scare you but they're so good you want to continue reading! Though, I got frightened a lot, it was worth it. :)

I know that the 2nd book is about Red [or Rowan] I wonder if the 3rd
is about Tanya rescuing Red and they live happily ever after,or something.

Tanya has been blessed /plagued with the ability to see fairies. She has learned to keep her second sight a secret from everyone as people - even her parents - are suspicious and afraid of things they don’t understand. Unfortunately the fairies that Tanya has met have been devious and malevolent and their meddling has resulted in Tanya being sent away to stay with her grandmother. It is here at her grandmother’s estate that Tanya joins with Fabian to solve a 50 year old mystery involving Fabian’s grandfather and a missing girl. Despite the interference of the vengeful fairies Tanya and Fabian persevere in trying to unravel the puzzle and avoid being drawn into the fairy realm forever. “A fabulous read for middle graders interested in faery tales and fantasy.”
This debut novel won the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize in 2009 and its sequel –
13 Curses - is now available.

Summary

Add a Summary

Tanya is no ordinary girl. She can see fairies. But not the fairies we imagine. Evil fairies who cast spells on her, rousing her from her sleep and propelling her out of bed. At wit's end with her daughter's inexplicable behavior, Tanya's mother sends her away to live with her grandmother at Elvesden Manor, a secluded countryside mansion on the outskirts of a peculiar Essex town.

There is plenty to explore, as long as Tanya stays away from Hangman's Wood- a vast stretch of forest, full of catacombs and notorious for people losing their lives. Fifty years ago a girl vanished in the woods, a girl Tanya's grandmother will not speak of. As Tanya learns more about this girl, she finds herself dangerously close to vanishing into the fairy realm forever.
