Summary
Add a SummaryA young spoiled prince is forced to learn patience through a series of tests on earth.
In AD 965, Odin, king of Asgard, wages war against the Frost Giants of Jotunheim and their leader Laufey, to prevent them from conquering the nine realms, starting with Earth. The Asgardian warriors defeat the Frost Giants and seize the source of their power, the Casket of Ancient Winters. In the present, Odin's son Thor prepares to ascend to the throne of Asgard, but is interrupted when Frost Giants attempt to retrieve the Casket. Against Odin's order, Thor travels to Jotunheim to confront Laufey, accompanied by his brother Loki, childhood friend Sif and the Warriors Three: Volstagg, Fandral and Hogun. A battle ensues until Odin intervenes to save the Asgardians, destroying the fragile truce between the two races. For Thor's arrogance, Odin strips his son of his godly power and exiles him to Earth as a mortal, accompanied by his hammer Mjolnir (the source of his power) now protected by an enchantment to allow only the worthy to wield it.

Thor: [waking up in the middle of nowhere] Oh, no... this is Earth... isn't it?
Agent Coulson: [interrogating Thor] It's not easy to do what you did. You made my men, some of the most highly trained professionals in the world look like a bunch of minimum-wage mall cops. In my experience, it takes someone who's received similar training to do what you did to them. Why don't you tell me where you received that training? Afghanistan, Chechnya? No, you strike me more as the soldier of fortune type. Who are you?
Thor: For the first time in my life, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do...
Thor: [to Jane Foster] The answers you seek shall be yours, once I claim what is mine.

Ummmmm.... Thor was a god before he was a comic book character.
A lot less energetic than I expected. It seems director, Kenneth Brannagh, attempted to instill a Shakespearean tone to the proceedings... Not a good mix, I think, when dealing with the far fetched realm of comic book heroics.
campy fun!
i loved this movie!! Chris Hemsworth is amazing! i love him!!!! i especially like when they are in the bar and Walk by Foo Fighters is playing in the background! nice touch. i can't wait for Thor 2!
I like this movie more each time I see it... veary likely because I get a total kick out of how Thor talks. heh heh yeah. Now where is my horse, Meow.
Loved this movie. True to the source material and great casting. Loki was particularly compelling.
I could not believe just how awful this movie was. So much money spent on special effects but a terrible and incoherent script with wooden acting. Watching paint dry would have been more interesting.
I love this movie because this movie is very good and I enjoy watching this movie. I hope there will be other one come out. :D
I wasn't able to watch it. The disc was too scratched and kept skipping.
