A great conclusion to the series. I am really fascinated by this universe and would love to know more about the time frame - is this far off in the future or on another planet entirely? Anyways, I can't wait to own this entire series.

the order is the giver gathering blue messenger son. i know this is like really late but just in case anybody else wants to know.

what's the order of the series? i read the giver already and i want to know what books to read next. Any help?

An interesting end to The Giver series. I loved it yet I was slightly annoyed by it; I liked that it wrapped up the series, however Lowry left a lot of loose ends. It has the same tone as the other books; it blends seamlessly into the series.

It seems that the community where The Giver begins is what, for me, makes these books special. I had trouble getting into Gathering Blue, The Messenger, and the latter part of Son. Nevertheless, one of the few science fiction series I'll read, and fantastically imagined.

Definitely read the first 3 books in the series before reading this one, as it provides the perfect wrap up to the stories that you have been introduced to in the first 3 books. Absolutely loved this book, and thought it was the perfect ending to a absolutely amazing series. For anyone wondering it goes The Giver, Gathering Blue, Messenger, and finally Son.

They called her Water Claire. When she washed up on their shore, no one knew that she came from a society where emotions and colors didn’t exist. That she had become a Vessel at age thirteen. That she had carried a Product at age fourteen. That it had been stolen from her body. Claire had a son. But what became of him she never knew. What was his name? Was he even alive? She was supposed to forget him, but that was impossible. Now Claire will stop at nothing to find her child, even if it means making an unimaginable sacrifice. Son thrusts readers once again into the chilling world of the Newbery Medal winning book, The Giver, as well as Gathering Blue and Messenger where a new hero emerges. In this thrilling series finale, the startling and long-awaited conclusion to Lois Lowry’s epic tale culminates in a final clash between good and evil. By the way, it's the fourth book to the Giver series.
