Not what I expected. There is an attempt to write about the various comediennes in somewhat chronological order but, with bits and pieces of interviews with many different people jumbled on the pages, I found it hard to get through. I ended up looking for names I recognized of women whose comedy I enjoyed and just read around those sections, trying to find out more about those individuals. I skimmed most of this book. Might be good for someone who wants to be a comedienne and learn what other comediennes before her had to go through.
