A lifelong dog lover, the former hard-driving attorney is drawn to a local group that rescues retired racing greyhounds. When Comet, a once-abused cinnamon-striped racer, chooses to "adopt" Wolf, he has no idea that a life-altering relationship has begun--for both of them.

Add a CommentWell written bio-brief. Comet (a retired racing Greyhound) is, indeed, a savior. When I rescued Joey (Jet Missile, also a retired racer) and had him trained to alert me to low blood sugars, I was amazed at how much more he added to my life. When I read of Comet's picking up on Wolf's needs so quickly and intuitively, even I was mesmerized. And, yes, everyone should save a Greyhound. You'll learn that they are 45 mph couch potatoes, of course, and how much a saved animal can love being saved.
I was captivated by the dog. I thought the human was his own worst enemy! Sometimes the story dragged a little and felt repetitive, but it is totally worth it. Comet is a charmer and will make you want to own a greyhound.
A moving story about a gentle and faithful spirit with 4 legs and a tail.
I loved this book. Honest, moving, well-written. And it does make you want to adopt a greyhound!
An excellent book! A biography of a man who is crippled by back pain. He rescues a greyhound dog from a shelter. It turns out that they rescue each other. Best book i've read in some time!
