"Like Lisbeth Salander of the bestselling adult novel The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Noa Torson is a smart and tough computer hacker. As a runaway teenager, Noa thrives living "off the grid" - until the day she wakes up on an operating table with no memory of how she got there. Noa teams up with fellow hacker Peter to discover what happened to her, but the pair soon becomes the target of a dangerous corporation determined to keep them from exposing its deadly secrets. This action-packed, blood-pumping techno-thriller is the 1st book in the Persefone trilogy." May 2013 Teen Scene newsletter

I was completely intrigued by this book in the beginning but slowly lost interest. Peter and Nao’s relationship lacked chemistry and I felt as if Amanda’s character was unnecessary or maybe undeveloped. Each character's background was pretty vague and it seemed like the author rushed through the book because issues regarding Amanda were never resolved. Although i must admit, Nao is a pretty cool character. Could have been better if the author went into depth with each character and maybe played around with Peter and Nao's relationship a bit.

Sixteen-year-old Noa is on her own. Using her computer hacker skills to evade the foster system, Noa lives off the grid to stay safe.

But then she is caught.

Waking up in an empty room with an IV in her arm, Noa knows that the doctors are lying to her about how she got there.

Peter, leader of a teen hacker alliance group (of which Noa is a part of), has stumbled across some dangerous work being carried out by a corporation called AMRF. Dangerous work he knows he must try to stop. Doing so however will put his and Noa's lives in jeopardy.

Hacker culture fans enjoy this action packed adventure!

Best hacker fiction since Gibson's "Burning Chrome" --- and probably better. Much superior to the "adult category" drivel, written by investment bankers for investment bankers (and haven't we had enough of bankers already ? ? ?). Only downside: published by a Rupert Murdoch company ...
