Add a Commenti really enjoyed reading this book, but the ending is soo annoying!i want to know what happens next in this book, not the next one!itwas confusing and some parts are really freaky and gross
Utterly confusing. Somehow Bick skews off of the zombie-apocalyptic world, and the relationship with the Chuckies, those in Rule, the military, and everyone else is completely tangled and all over the place. What in the world is going on with Chris and Peter? Why does Alex not leave the band of the Changed? Whatever happened to Emmy? The only part I really enjoyed were the short, clipped scenes describing Tom's actions after he was saved by an elderly couple. Yes, I admit Bick is excellent at horro fiction- her scenes of carnage and bloody fights the Changed have are certainly gruesome enough. The novel is fast-paced and action- packed as well, but the plot is a bit lacking.
