Add a CommentChristina & Dante Gabriel Rossetti & John Polidori--what's not to like? However, I found some of the world-building to be a little loose & sloppy. The writing style was a little too plain, too.
Very well written and inventive.
I did not like it, not one bit. I finished the whole thing, and wish I hadn't bothered. I recognize the writing is good, and it had a lot of plot, but I could not care about any of the characters, I found it too weird ( I don't read "horror", maybe I just don't like the type of book?), and rambling. Very disappointed.
Not a sequel but more a successor to Powers' phenomenal The Stress of Her Regard. I believe him to be one of the most talented writers out there right now. He makes the mystical and mythological calmly believable. I highly recommend this novel. Don't miss it.
