Add a CommentSimple clean words and illustrations. Great message that we all can learn from in this world of technology.
In this cheery, nearly wordless "blend of clever design and a sincere, never-preachy delivery" (Kirkus Reviews), a little girl named Lydia tries to get the attention of every member of her family...but her mum, dad, and brother are all completely absorbed in online pursuits. Beckoned by a leaf adrift on the wind, Lydia goes outside, meets a whole host of animals, and enjoys a somewhat fantastical adventure - until her cell phone rings and her panicked parents (who don't know where she's gone) call her back home. But Lydia convinces her family to venture out of the digital realm and into the natural one along with her. This is a picture book for parents to read. It's a very simple book with a simple message alike "It's a Book" by Lane Smith, which is also about disconnecting ourselves from technology, using our imaginations and exploring the world around us rather than the world inside a computer, or a smart phone or a video game. Terrific!
