I always thought English never had any all-encompassing rules or logic, I thought that it was just a weird hodge-podge of languages, and always told new English learners to just learn it and not ask why. This book shows the importance of learning the complete phonetic rules of English and how they can make everyone a competent reader and speller. I recommend it to any school- or ESL-teachers.

Great summary of the "secret" rules to spelling English. Seems insightful.
