K. Cole is the reigning queen of the wildly successful paranormal Immortals After Dark series...and she has done it again. a skillfully written and entertaining tale...rich with complex characters, snappy dialogue, and sweet moments. Cole writing was brisk, Ironic, sensual, and relentlessly imaginative. Trehan Daciano , a. k. a. Prince of Shadows, his a lover and a fighter...he his an aggressively SEXY Alpha male who won't let anything stand in the way of claiming his mate Bettina, despite all the obstacles. sometimes he seems dark...he manage to be both charming and yet frightening, but to me that made him so much more appealing. mmmmmmmmmmm! I really love them together. with him she is...BRAVE, WILD, and FREE. and when she let go of all her childish fascination I SHOUT yes! she is all grown up now LOL!

For some reason, I always find it so much easier to write a review for a book I despise vs. one I actually like! I can tear apart crappy books with ease (and utter joy), but can’t seem to put the praise I feel in my heart about good books into writing, but here goes…To start off with the positive, I’d like to say that I really liked our heroine Bettina because: she doesn’t have that typical annoying voluptuous figure that, well, EVERY other heroine in Kresley’s books is graced with. Women in the real world have a variety of different figures: short, tall, curvy, slim, and some even have *gasp* freckles! Or a crooked tooth! So it was nice to see a heroine who was slightly different from this overwhelming “voluptuous” ideal, yet still considered beautiful in her own way. I also love how Bettina starts off this book as a coward, as someone who suffers from debilitating fear thanks to the opening events of this book. Not only does this make for some cute protective scenes between Trehan and Bettina, but it adds more depth and realism to her character. She doesn’t start off as a confident and capable woman, she GROWS into it. And I really loved seeing that bravery and perseverance on her part. All in all, she’s one of my favourite IAD heroines (along with Sabine). Trehan was…ok. I liked him, didn’t love him. He was a little bland and a little too forgettable to be one of my fav heroes, but as least he wasn’t a controlling dick like Lothaire or a torturing dick like Chase. He was a nice, honourable, slightly angsty (but not emo) man. Oh, and the plot was great, as per typical Kresley Cole fashion. Check it out! :)

Another great story by Cole. I just loved the Dacian Cousins. Trey is great and HOT! What woman wouldnt want a fighter/ Alpha male like him. I felt all his pain and Bettina is a likeable character also. I did like her and once she realized her true feelings and shed her childish ones I liked her more.

Love Kresley Cole. I have to say that her Immortals After Dark series is a step above most paranormal series, simply because each book is individual and they haven't become myopic and formulaic, as say... Lora Leigh (despite my affection for the Breed books). I really liked this one, the hero and heroine and the whole story were new and captivating.
