Add a CommentAs I read the first pages of this book, I enjoyed the humor and the introduction of the main characters. As the story went along, the humor became a bit cloying to me. There were few nuances to the characterizations, and the tone and dialogue were very modern for the historical time period. A revelation at the end seemed to be taken too lightly. I did enjoy the spunk and determination of the female characters in the book. Overall, it was all right, but I thought it needed a little more depth mixed in with the humor.
