This series may not be for everyone, I read that it focuses on acedemic life and the author's humour is very dry, harder to catch in this one. I loved the Scotland Street Series and I'm going to read Trains and Lovers by this author next, it isn't a series. Then I'll try the Sunday Philosophy Club Series before trying this out. I recommend reading them in order though and this one is number four in the 2 1/2 Pillars of Wisdom Series. I do love the combination of his dry humour and gentle kindness in his writing and he's very intellectual. This one may be too much for me though, we'll see. Lots of Margaret Atwood was over my head too when her writing focused on real mythology I know nothing about. Oh and Corduroy Mansions is a really good series (short though!) by McCall Smith.

I'm sorry, but I found this to be an utterly stupid book. Such a waste of time that I only got 1/2 way through it before I gave up in disgust and returned it to the library
