This lady is one of the best biographers I have ever read. I have tried to read about several other people lately that I truly wish had the benefit of a great biographer like Ms. Byrne. She has proven to me once again (along with the several very bad biographies I've plodded through lately) that it takes a very particular talent to produce a truly revealing and readable biography.

interesting and written to appeal to the new to Austen reader, but misses out some important facts

"Published to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the original publication of Pride and Prejudice, this revealing portrait of the beloved novelist, drawn from the most up-to-date scholarship and unexplored sources, presents a modern take on this famous writer and the world that shaped her."
