This novel gets convoluted and truly bizarre at times with its depictions of parallel universes and the technology and understanding needed to bridge them. Adding to the confusion of interdimensional travel is the complexity that is “time” travel, described in ways that would confuse even a devout Whovian.

If you can ignore all that, what emerges is a riveting tale of racing through time and space in an attempt to stop foes who have actually banded together, thus increasing the danger levels for our intrepid hero and the enigmatic girl who has appeared by his side. Not knowing who the true bad guy spices up the mystery and action considerably.

This installment in the Interworld saga is truly epic—heartfelt, anguished and, finally, touched with hope.

it's really too bad that there is such controversy and confusion about the authorship of this book and series ... it is a collaborative effort and everyone should be credited.
This is a pretty decent adventure story and is a good platform for the series. This one did not have the light touch of the first book.

Started well, but the ending's a hot mess.

I had a sudden, dizzying flash of the awesome math it required just to move about outside time: to go six months forward or back instantaneously and not wind up floating, flash frozen, in space because the Earth had moved out from under you on its merry way around the sun.
