Add a CommentIt is a great book for learning some basic recipes for baking.
Julia is, was, and always will be the master. This book is definitely for the ambitious baker, but don't you want to be just like Julia? It's worth a try. The galette recipe is actually very easy and can be used in place of pie dough once you get it down.
I've had quite a few successes with recipes from this book. Some are a bit too complicated or time consuming, but there are a few i keep going back to, so that makes it a great cookbook!
