This class series will talk about the importance of
aging gracefully and introduce the practices necessary to realize it.
· Accept aging and the challenges it represents to pursuing
happiness
· Acquire the necessary skills to avoid pitfalls in our pursuit of
happiness
· Learn how aging impacts our relationships
· How compassion can repair a relationship in trouble
· How compassion towards ourselves and others can make
relationships more harmonious and improve our own well-being
Each person’s attitude toward aging determines whether we age gracefully, or regard it as a degenerative process burdened by negativity. Learning how to age gracefully will contribute to a healthy attitude toward aging.

Sunil Nethisinghe attributes his success in the high-tech industry as a senior executive to the use of mindfulness and compassion techniques. In senior management roles, he worked at Philips Electronics N.V. and NXP, based in Europe, Asia, and North America.
Since his retirement, he has dedicated his time to nonprofit organizations and shares his 35 years of experience in mindfulness and compassion through talks and workshops to international audiences. Being an engineer, his exploration of concepts is analytical, and his application of principles practical, and he talks through direct experience. He is a 2021 Alumni of Applied Compassion Training (ACT) at the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) at Stanford University. He is also a Mental Fitness Coach.
Nilushka Melnick is a leader in Strategy Management in Healthcare. She has extensive experience in building the infrastructure to support the translation of organizational strategy into actionable initiatives to drive performance. She is currently the Director of Strategic Programs at Stanford Health Care.
Nilushka has a B.S. in Neuroscience from U.C. Riverside, a Masters in Public Health from Boston University, her Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and is a certified Workplace Mindfulness Facilitator and Mental Fitness Coach.
