Description


The Lions of Fifth Avenue (2020) by Fiona Davis s both a historical novel and a mystery, set within the actual walls of the New York City Public Library In two parallel time periods. In 1913, Jack and Laura Lyon and their children live in the private residence provided for the library’s Superintendant. Laura studies Journalism at Columbia University, and explores New York’s Bohemian life, specifically with the women of the Heterodxy Club in Greenwich Village Jack however is having serious trouble when precious first editions disappear from the library collection, and he is suspected as the thief.

In 1993, Laura’s granddaughter Sadie Donovan, a library curator has the task of finding historical materials about the library’s early years. Like Jack, Sadie must strive to save her career when once again, irreplaceable books begin to disappear from the library's collection.

The Cupertino Library Adult Book Discussion meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7 pm in Room 201A. Adults of all ages are welcome. All meetings are sponsored by The Friends of the Cupertino Library.
