Attendees are encouraged to read whatever poetry they might like to read, and join in related discussions. The Garlicky Group of Poets has been hosted by the Gilroy Library since 1995. The group meets the second Saturday of the month, no sign up required. These monthly readings attract residents from throughout South County.
Ed Nauss founded the readings which are free and open to all, not just poets.
“Procedures are relaxed, informal, providing equal opportunity for all,” he said. “There is never a ‘featured’ reader, nor is there any internal competition. Nobody gets ‘slammed.’”
