Do you know what one of the strongest features of safer neighborhoods is according to researchers at Harvard University? It's neighborhood cohesion – neighbors who know and look out for each other. There are few better ways to develop neighborhood cohesion than the Neighborhood Watch program.
Neighborhood Watch is a great way to maintain a healthy and vibrant neighborhood while helping local law enforcement and first responders keep neighborhoods safe. A neighborhood of people who know one another, as well as the typical behaviors and happenings that take place on their block, are better able to identify and report unusual activities to law enforcement and to help each other.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about Saratoga's Neighborhood Watch from its lead, Dory Albert. She will describe the objectives, benefits and how to start a group in your neighborhood.
This is the first part of a Community Safety event at Saratoga Library. The second part which starts at 7:45 PM covers the CERT program and how to enroll in CERT training. More information about that program can be found here: https://sccl.bibliocommons.com...
