Adult Book Discussion: Go As a River

7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Cupertino Library

Description

In August, the Adult Book Discussion Group at Cupertino Library will talk about the novel Go As a River by Shelley Read. (2023)

In 1948, Victoria Nash is a lonely, isolated teenaged girl living on a peach farm in Western Colorado with her father, uncle and brother. Since mother's death, Victoria has had to keep house and take care of her male relatives while also helping with the farm work. While taking one of her rare trips into town, Victoria meets Wilson Moon, a stranger and an outcast on account of his Native American heritage. Wilson gives Victoria some of the love and attention she desperately needs, and also a baby out of wedlock which forces her to hide in a cabin in the Colorado wilderness until her child is born.

The Adult Book Discussion Group meets twice a month on the third Wednesday morning at 11 and the third Thursday evening at 7pm in Room 201B. Adults of all ages are welcome. All meetings are sponsored by The Friends of the Cupertino Library.
