Turn! Turn! Turn! Folk-Rock Revolution

11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Gilroy Library

Description

In the 1960s, folk and rock converged to create folk-rock, a genre that produced some of the most melodic and lyrical songs in popular music history.

Rock music historian and author Richie Unterberger explores the change that began when the social consciousness of folk met the energy of rock accompanied by vintage film clips. This presentation serves as a visual companion to his two-volume history of 1960s folk-rock, Turn! Turn! Turn! and Eight Miles High.
