Description

The practice of Ilocano traditional weaving is rooted in the migration of Ilocano Filipinos to the U.S. in the early 1900s. Discover its socio-cultural and historical significance and Explore iconic design patterns, their symbolism, and try weaving on small looms. As the second-largest Filipino ethnolinguistic group in the U.S., Ilocanos carry a rich weaving heritage.

There will be the opportunity to try weaving on small looms for the first 25 attendees.

This program is part of the Santa Clara County Library District's Filipino American History Month (FAHM).
