Reading Program: Adult Learner Orientation

Description

Santa Clara County Library District (SCCLD) residents are eligible to register for this in-person Learner Orientation led by Literacy Specialist staff. This learner orientation is for interested adults who meet the following requirements:

  • Adults (age 18 and up)
  • Live in Campbell, Cupertino, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Milpitas, Saratoga, Monte Sereno, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, San Martin, or the unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County.
  • Understand basic spoken English.
  • Can respond to basic questions in English.
  • Read or write at an 8th grade level or lower and are able to understand and communicate in English.
  • Can meet with a tutor 2 hours a week for at least 6 months.
  • Have a full-membership SCCLD library card.

Join us to learn about the Reading Program's services. This learner orientation is required for new students to learn about the program's structure, services and expectations. During the session you will learn about the program requirements and about how this program can help you meet your goals with English.
