Virtual Author Talk: Michael Perry

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Description

Join us for a conversation with bestselling author and humorist Michael Perry, whose wide‑ranging work captures the humor, heartbreak, and everyday magic of rural communities. In his memoir Population: 485, Perry introduces readers to unforgettable small‑town characters, from a pistol‑packing vigilante to a cross‑eyed butcher, while navigating fires, wrecks, bar fights, and moments of quiet tenderness that reveal the soul of his hometown.

His fiction debut, Jesus Cow, brings the same blend of wit and sincerity to a modern tale of faith and chaos, following Harley Jackson as he contends with love, land‑hungry developers, and a calf born with the image of Jesus Christ on its flank. Together, these works showcase Perry’s gift for finding the extraordinary in ordinary lives.

This program is part of Santa Clara County Library District's celebration of Silicon Valley Reads.
