In May, the Cupertino Library Adult Book Discussion Group will discuss the 2024 novel, Hard by a Great Forest by Leo Vardiashvili. Saba and his father and brother fled the former Soviet Republic of Georgia when the Soviet Union collapsed. After twenty years living in London, Saba's father and brother return to Georgia, and ultimately Saba follows out of concern for their safety. Thanks to cryptic clues left around Tblisi by his older brother, Saba tries to trace them while also coping with both happy and harrowing memories of his home and the people they left behind.

The Adult Book Group meets twice a month, at eleven am on third Wednesdays, and at 7pm on third Thursdays. Adults of all ages are welcome. All meetings are sponsored by The Friends of the Cupertino Library.
