Following television interviews at the airport in Damascus, she disappears. Was she kidnapped by the terrorists, or is she just hiding? Mrs. P heads to Syria, dons a burka and uses her ingenuity and a well-placed karate chop to aid an abducted American woman. Barbara Rosenblatt is in her usual splendid form as narrator. An interview on the final CD with Gilman is not as interesting as her characters, but Gilman does admit that writers are boring compared with their book characters.
