Pretty fantastic documentary. Paul Pena was definitely a gem that fell by the wayside. But, in this doc he gets some of his due. He goes to Tuva and is beloved by the people for his musical talents. The music is beautiful, the people are beautiful and the place is beautiful. I really enjoyed watching this. Wish I would have known about Paul when he was alive, I would have loved to have seen him play. The only criticism is the production value of the filming. Seemed like the two guys who made it were first time filmmakers or something. Kind of amateurish in its presentation. But that is a small gripe. Watch it, you'll be glad you did.

This is a beautiful documentary about the human spirit. This is definitely worth watching. The set of circumstances that brought all of the people connected to the film together is amazing. Lovely people and exciting music. Tannu Tuva, at least when this was filmed, is wondrous.

Paul Pena is a great musician. I have long been a fan of Asian throat singing. More complex than Inuit throat singing, but similar animal-language origin.
