'Hiroshima No Pika' is an award-winning children’s book which tells the story of a young girl and her family who live through the horrific atomic bombing of Hiroshima through heart-rending but beautiful water color illustrations. While the horror lies in the reality of the story, the beauty of its articulation creates a sensitive setting to inspire children in the hope that Hiroshima will never be repeated and that peace and humanity will prevail in their time. The film warns that such a tragedy should never happen again and as a survivor of the atomic bomb said "It can’t happen again, if no one drops the bomb". The film based on this book also contains the documentary 'Hellfire', in which the world-renowned painters, Toshi and Iri Maruki, go on to recount their other murals including the 'Nanking Massacre' and 'Auschwitz' as a condemnation of atrocities committed worldwide including by their own people.
