1976.. Felt like the "movie special of the week" from the 1970's !...Oops.... it WAS !. It was OK , good acting and storyline. MacArthur was FIRED by Truman from his job for disobeying the Prez. He wanted to be the next Prez but he was a commanding soldier.

Right from the beginning of the movie I couldn't help but chuckle a bit at how biased and stereotypically American-point-of -view this was but I can't really criticize considering it's a movie and not meant to be an historically accurate educational piece. Nonetheless, I'm glad I watched it.

Gregory Peck fans here is an epic picture that shows the greatness of his acting ability. There are no major stars in the film other than Gregory Peck. He is fascinating as General George MacArthur, who during World War II was our Allied Supreme Commander. If that wasn't enough for the history books, he then became the United Nations Commander in the Korean War. He is a general much like General George C. Patton. He was outspoken and a risk taker. You won't believe how much power General MacArthur had during his tour of service. Some will disagree with the accuracy of the movie. I watch movies to be entertained and "MacArthur" only made me want to watch more films about World War II!
