Totally agree with other comments. Couldn't put book down from the first page on. Amazing story, well written, griping. Thanks to Betty for sharing her story with us!

An amazing story! Addictive and hard to put down. I would go to sleep reading this book, may or may not have had some crazy dreams from it (lol), and would wake up instantly wanting to read again!!! It hits close to home for me because my grandpa came to America from Iran and married my grandma. He always wanted to show her Iran, but she told me she was too afraid to travel there. I figured it was due to the threat of war/violence, but this book paints a very grim picture of what she was most likely actually afraid of. My grandparents are both dead and gone now, but throughout reading this book, I couldn't help picturing my grandparents as the main characters...

Readers may also want to read 'Lost Without My Daughter' (written by the Father) and My 'Name Is Mahtob' (written by the daughter).

Amazing book - I couldn't put it down - had to stay up until 5:00am to finish it! Incredible what this woman & her daughter went through & managed to escape from!

Phenomenal read! Goes into much more vivid detail compared to the movie. Readers will feel immersed into the characters' lives and gain an appreciation for things we often take for granted. I look forward to reading Betty's other book, For the Love of a Child.

What a great unbelieveable story.
I was not able to put it down.
It is crazy how a man you love and trust just turns on you.
I it hard to deal with a marriage with those different religions. Especially when the man is from a third world country where police tells you how you can dress. What is left to say for a man, that thinks he is the "owner" of his family......

Absolutely great reading. Should be "a Must Read" for every woman who loves man from another country then her own.
