The description that comes to mind is this is the Nine Inch Nail's Pornography[The Cure] album; meaning a slow and depressed version of NIN and just slightly enjoyable and I like my NIN loud.

I haven't listened to a lot of Nine Inch Nails, but I am familiar with some of the band's earlier work. I listened to this album from beginning to end, finding the tracks ranging from energetic and intense to melodic and slow. A good album.
