A broad, British satiric brush paints a humourous picture of an ancient Oxbridge college clinging to its tawdry and prestigious past. Many sorts are skewered: academics with tenure, reformers, politicians, students, aristocratic "old boys," the "servant/bureaucrats", et alia. Ian Richardson is, as always, deliciously evil and yet henpecked at the same time. There's dabs of off colour humour (ala Benny Hill) in evidence as well. Jolly enough if you "get" English humour.

A hilarious and scathing attack on the British class system, academia and the media, with terrific performances by David Jason and Ian Richardson..
