Ridiculous, gross and silly I quit about a third of the way through as I could see no point that could be made that would encourage me enough to sit through the rest of it. GROSS and stupid. I would have given it a minus star if I could have.
The French have a word for it. Dégueulasse. This film reminds me of the equally disgusting Salo, in its unremitting repetition in pursuit of an obscure meaning. There has to be a moral in here, in the endless scenes of gluttony and demeaning sex, and (if I were feeling generous enough to care) it probably has something to do with the Western world’s headless pursuit of pleasure, regardless of the consequences. But there is no explanation of why these four characters are literally eating themselves to death, why their four names are the same names as the actors who play them, or why those four superb actors would agree to lend their names and talents to such a piffling project. This is just terrible. (And I’m talking plain English).
