This romantic comedy stars America Ferrera, Forest Whitaker, Lance Gross, and Carlos Mencia amongst more. Lucia and Marcus have just graduated college and have decided that they will be getting married. After announcing it to their families, chaos ensues as the father of each fiance fight to see who will have more control over the wedding. The movie is relatable in the way that many families have a hard time merging families once they get married, but this movie also made things so much more dramatic than they needed to be. I would rate this movie 3/5 stars for having interesting enough characters, but wish that it would do something more than just cheap jokes. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

Potential that doesn't fly. Poor casting - the bride and groom have no chemistry. Poor direction - the comedic talent of the fathers is wasted.

If you last to the end, it finally generates some warmth with a happy ending.

I actually really enjoyed this movie. I thought it was cute, funny in parts, and looked at some real relationship issues...

Skip it – Our Family Wedding (2010) 103 min. On paper, the film should provide enough laughs and messaging to make this a worthwhile film mainly about the perils of focusing on one’s relationship solely on expectations. Unfortunately, the film dives into terrible slap stick comedy that should be left for the masters like Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin. Forest Whitaker looked completely miscast as the father of the soon-to-be groom. The film focuses on racial tensions as an African-American gets engaged to a Mexican-American. If they edited this film by removing the 15 minutes of ridiculous stap stick, the film wouldn’t be all that bad. Did I mention the goat that o-d’s on Viagra?
